SUMMARY
The Don Genung Training and Resource Center Manager is responsible for the operation of the
training center. This position will work in cooperation with agency staff and community partners to
assess training needs that will drive initiatives for the agency and community. This position
actively searches, creatively designs and implements effective methods to educate, enhance
performance and meet the compliance needs of our agency and community organizations. They will also
market, coordinate and track training for the center.
The Training and Resource Center Manager is directly responsible to the Program Director I.
This position is not eligible for overtime pay.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and responsibilities are given as examples of the various types of work
performed in this position. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
- Coordinates, implements and evaluates training events responsive to the needs of the Florida
Sheriffs Youth Ranches and the community. - Researches, evaluates and/or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of
delivery methods including but not limited to: written, video, media, blended learning and digital
materials. - Plans, organizes, facilitates and orders supplies for employee and community development and
training events in accordance with agency purchasing policy and procedures. - Plans and develops organizational communications such as digital bulletin boards, social media,
newsletters, calendars, and other promotional materials to ensure employees and community partners
have knowledge of upcoming training and professional development events. - Manages budget, expenditures, and revenue generating activity relating to Training and Resource
Center to ensure that resources are maximized, and that all programs are fiscally accountable.
Ensures that facilities, equipment, and other assets are properly maintained. - Ensures alignment with program initiatives and goals by evaluating program effectiveness
through surveys, assessments, and written reports. - Works effectively as a team member with other members of the agency and our community partners.
- Establishes and maintains an annual Master Training Calendar for the Training and Resource
Center. - Markets the training center and its classes and/or availability to the public for trainings,
meetings and community gatherings. - Responsible for making visitors, both individuals and groups, feel welcome and comfortable
when visiting the Training and Resource Center and for presenting the opportunities and other Youth
Ranches services to the public through radio, television, and group appearances as required and
requested.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
The person filling this position must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Training, Marketing, or
related field. Five years of experience designing and implementing development plans is preferred.
Preference will be given to persons holding instructor certifications in Professional Learning and
Performance.

- Must be adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
- Must have the ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
- Must demonstrate a positive attitude, ask clarifying questions necessary for job success and
exhibit enthusiasm for the Youth Ranches mission and values. - Must uphold quality standards in their work and the work of their subordinates.
- Must have a valid Florida Driver License and be able to maintain a safe driving record
consistent with agency policy.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly standing, walking, sitting,
listening, talking, and using hands and fingers, while occasionally climbing or balancing,
stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching with hands and arms.
The employee is regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed primarily in an office/training center. Some travel will be expected in order to
meet with community partners. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and
working on a computer is the norm.
BASE SALARY
$43,680 Annually.
