This event will include guided trail rides\, arena games\, an evening cowboy frolic with live band\, and for those who want a taste of real cowboy life like it was in the old days\, an overnight cattle drive. \nUnlike previous gatherings\, you will be responsible for ALL of your own meals. The ONLY meal being provided will be to those participating in the overnight cattle drive. Food vendors will be available on site. \nIMPORTANT OVERNIGHT CATTLE DRIVE DETAILS \nFor those adventurous enough\, there will be an overnight cattle drive. The drive will depart on Friday and move a herd of cattle across the ranch returning with the herd on Saturday. THIS IS A “ROUGH IT” EVENT. CAMPING WILL BE PRIMITIVE AND WHAT YOU BRING ON YOUR HORSE IS WHAT YOU HAVE!! A limited number of highlines will be available\, but it is strongly recommended that your horse be trained to other forms of restraint (ground picket\, hobbles\, etc.) THERE WILL BE NO STALLS ON THE DRIVE AND PORTABLE “ELECTRIC” PENS ARE NOT PERMITTED. A chuckwagon style meal will be provided to riders participating in the cattle drive on Friday night and Saturday morning. \nAs in the old days\, these cattle will be moved and held in the open. There will be no cow pens at the campsite. Because of this the cattle will have to be held at night. EACH PARTICIPANT IN THE DRIVE WILL BE EXPECTED TO TAKE A SHIFT GUARDING THE HERD. \nCampsites \nThere are plenty of primitive sites available for the event. These sites provide ample room for both your rig and an area to secure your horse(s). Generators are permitted. \nThere will be a limited number of sites available with water and electric. The cost of hook-up sites will be $90 for the weekend. These sites will be distributed on a first come\, first served basis through Eventbrite. Sites will be assigned the day of check-in. There is no “pre -selection” of sites. Electric hook-ups at the sites may be 30 or 50 amp. It is recommended that you have adapters for either. If you REQUIRE a 50 amp site\, please email us and let us know. \nA couple general rules (you will receive a full rules list) \n\nAll horses must have proof of negative coggins or they will be turned away.\n\n\nRiders must be a minimum of 8 years old\n\n\nNo doubling (2 riders on one horse)\n\n\nNo ponying\n\n\nWell behaved dogs are allowed but must be restrained by a 6 foot leash or shorter .

SUMMARY:Lake County Sheriff's Office 11th Annual Bass Fishing Tournament
DESCRIPTION:On February 3\, 2024 the Lake County Sheriff’s Office will hold their 11th Annual Bass Fishing Tournament. \nThe event will be held at the Hickory Point Recreation Complex at 27341 FL-19 in Tavares\, Florida 32778 \nRules for the event: \nENTRY FEE: $100.00 per boat (includes big bass)\, 2 contestants per boat. On time entries must be postmarked by January 26th\, 2024. Late entries will be accepted at the ramp or after 1/27/2024\nat the rate of $120.00. \nELIGIBILITY: Boat Operator must be 18 years of age. Parent’s signature required for any minor fishing the event. Entry form must be completely filled out and signed by both contestants.\nTournament Size and Limit: Minimum size 12 inches guidelines with state exemption permit. Tournament limit 5 largemouth bass per boat. No culling of dead fish.\nDead Fish: Dead fish penalty will assess at the rate of .25 pound per dead fish. To be considered a live fish it must swim off upright within 3 minutes witnessed by a tournament official. Dead fish penalty will be deducted before consideration for BIG BASS AWARD. \nTOURNAMENT HOURS: SAFE LIGHT until 3:00 pm. Boats will be launched in 25 boat flights and will be allowed 15 minutes per flight time extension per flight. Boats will check out by end of fishing pier and check in at the same.\nLate Penalty will assess at 1 pound per minute up to 15 minutes\, then disqualified. \nTAKE-OFF: Will be in order in which entries are received. Confirmations will be sent to the boater’s provided email. \nTACKLE & EQUIPMENT: Only artificial lures may be used. All bass must be caught in a legal sporting manner.\nNo Trolling: Trolling is use of the outboard to power the boat to give action to the lure. \nBOATS & MOTORS: Boats 16 feet or longer\, with properly working aerated live-wells and kill switch. NO OVERPOWERED BOATS ALLOWED. All boats must meet B.I.A.\, U.S. Coast Guard regulations.\nLife Jackets: MUST BE WORN anytime the outboard is running until check in. Kill switches MUST BE attached to the driver anytime the combustion motor is running. Each contestant is expected to follow high standards of sportsmanship\, courtesy\, safety and conservation. No alcoholic beverages\, stimulants or depressants allowed in boats during tournament hours. \nPERMITTED FISHING LOCATIONS: Anywhere on the tournament water except within 50 yards of another Contestant’s boat or the take-off / launch area. All fishing must be done from boat. No Contestant may leave the boat to fish or land a fish. \nTournament Director has final decision.\nAny violation of these rules may constitute disqualification from this event with no refund of entry fee.
