Artist Patrick Gaughan enjoys volunteering his time at the Youth Ranch in Safety Harbor. He often works with the kids on sculptures, canvas paintings and other creative projects.
One particular day, he asked the girls to come to class wearing their outdoor paint clothes. Most kids might groan but not these girls! They know Mr. Patrick will always has something fun on the agenda.
There on the patio were two four drawer and one two drawer filing cabinets, in fair condition and definitely BORING! It was time to bring them to life. Mr. Patrick brought out his paints while the girls explored their imaginations. Soon these drab drawers became a starlit night, a ribbon of hope, a seascape with dolphins or an abstract work of art.
We are thankful for kind volunteers like Mr. Patrick who donate their time, tools and talents to inspire the creativity and imagination in our children!
If you would like to volunteer your time and talents at a Youth Ranches campus, please call 1-800-765- 3707 and ask for Wendy Boise. She will discuss the available options and guide you through the volunteer application process! Thanks for sharing and caring!
